Can You Really Get a Good Free Antivirus Program?

September 2nd, 2010 by paramoz

We have grown up in the world where computers are all around us. We put them in our homes and offices and we hope that it will serve us will. But, when we go on the internet we hope that our computers aren’t attacked by viruses. So, without having to go out spending hundreds of dollars on a virus program. We go on the internet looking for some kind of free antivirus programs.

Usually our first stop is going on CNET to see what free programs we can find. There are a few, Avast is one. It’s good for a while but, you need to have a code to activate it. It works for most viruses but, it not the best free one I’ve seen.

The one free antivirus program that has come out comes from Microsoft themselves. You can go onto their site and download it right to your computer. Its worth it. It’s called, Microsoft security essentials. I had heard about the program myself from watching the news on television.

It’s important to have a good antivirus program on your computer. The more time we spend on the internet, the more chances we have of getting a virus on our computers. Its very important to make the life of our computers last for years. Being that computers cost so must to replace right now. With windows 7 out there now. It’s a good thing to find that antivirus program that will work with the windows we have on our computer.

Protecting the computer from viruses is just one of the many things that this program can do for you. With computer hackers out there trying to come up with way to get into our computers this program can help. A firewall is just one other thing.

When you get a virus you want to make sure that whatever program you’re using will get rid of the virus. This program will erase the history of all the viruses that have been found on your computer. I would say that if you don’t want to spend money for a antivirus program then this antivirus program would be your best bet.

Most of our computers that we have bought from the stores, usually comes with an antivirus program like McCafee. I’m not saying that using a paid antivirus program wouldn’t work. I’m just saying that not all the programs out there are as good as others. There are always problems with every program we buy and use on our computers. But, having the best program for our computer shouldn’t have to cost us lots of money. When there are ones out there that don’t cost anything.

It’s totally your choice on what you use.

How to Delete The Total Security Virus From Your Computer – A Total Security Removal

September 1st, 2010 by paramoz

Need help with the Total Security Virus? There is legit security software with the same name by BitDefender, however Total Security is not related in any way. What this virus will do is slow down your system to a crawl, corrupt your files, and attempt to steal your credit card information. Get rid of it before it does you any harm!

How Did I Get Infected with the Total Security Virus?

Common ways of infection of a virus such as this one are an infected download of an mp3, a video file, a corrupt photo, or an exploit in your internet browser. I know someone who was infected through a link in a Facebook message.

What are the Total Security Virus Symptoms?

A ’sick’ computer has some telltale signs.

Slow system performance
Slow internet browsing
System crashes and/or blue screens
Lots of annoying popups
Program error messages
Strange icons or desktop changes
Internet Browser hijacks

How Do I Get My Computer Normal Again?

There are a couple schools of thought. The first thing you can try is to manually remove the software, but I do not recommend a beginner attempt such a removal.

Manual Removal of Total Security:

Virus removal is no easy task. It involves diving into your protected system registry, normally the LOCAL_HKEY_USER folder, and deleting all infected registry files. For a manual removal of this trojan what you will need to do is first stop all ‘TSC’ system process and delete all associated registry keys and system files. You could delete 99% of the virus and have it come back worse than before after every system reboot. For this reason I don’t recommend manual deletion for anyone except IT professionals.

Automatic Removal, “Bob Approved”

The easy way to get rid of Total Security is to just download an automatic detection and deletion tool. A program that will scan your system, show you exactly what viruses and spyware are hiding, and best of all, will protect you in the future against similar threats. Automatic removal and protection truly is a no-brainer.

These malicious spywares will cause problems with the system it infects by sending out confidential information but this can be solved using a full spyware removal software.

Various freeware programs can be easily downloaded on the web. These freeware programs do not offer better protection than the spyware software since some of these programs do not have complete spyware detection and removal.

A regular updating period would be an important feature of a software. The Current Virus Problem and Why Your Computer is Infected

August 28th, 2010 by paramoz

Whether it’s Conflickr or a new fake anti-virus program, it sort of feels like malicious software and viruses are inescapable for any computer hooked up to the Net. It’s estimated the amount spent annually on security software in the US has risen to over $800 million in recent years, but computers are still getting infected daily. Why aren’t we virus free yet?

The answer lies in the character of malicious programming or greedy programmers. Computer viruses don’t spring up out of the blue, they are designed by programmers who either have nothing better to do and think it will be fascinating, or professionals who make money by abusing your PC. Whenever anti-virus companies are informed of a new virus, they create a new definition for their anti-virus software to help isolate and remove that virus if it is downloaded onto your personal computer. Once the new definition is widespread enough that a serious proportion of computers are safe against that virus, a newer one is created by the nefarious programmers and the cycle starts again. Just about two thousand new viruses were identified each day in 2007, and the difficulty isn’t going away soon. This is why you need to allow your anti-virus software to download new virus definitions so often.

Annoyed hackers tired of the rapid turnover of “regular” viruses have graduated to attacking your computer’s defences directly: your anti-virus software. Many new viruses include programming that either hides itself specifically from many popular anti-virus programs, prevents them from downloading new virus definitions, or shuts them down entirely. Even if these new viruses are identified quickly, many computers will already be infected and the software on the machines will not be able to get rid of the virus. In situations where one virus shuts down the anti-virus software totally, other viruses will often infect the machine and can render it inoperable in a couple of hours if not minutes. Still other nasty viruses employ tricks to avoid removal methodologies, and will re-infect a machine after an anti-virus program or a user attempts to remove them.

The battle against computer viruses is non-stop, but you can do something to help shield your system. Installing a good anti-virus program and permitting it to update frequently is just the 1st step, but be careful of fake anti-virus programs you may find online (many of these are viruses themselves). The fake anti-virus programs normally go by the names: Antivirus 2010 Pro, Windows Pro Police, System Guard 2009, Personal Antivirus, Antispyware XP 2009, and plenty more. You can see a pattern in how they name themselves. Never download anything from a person or website you do not trust, never open a suspicious email (you do not always have to open the attachments to get infected), and don’t go to websites with a poor reputation. If you take these steps and your PC still gets infected, have a trained professional remove the virus for you instead of attempting to remove it yourself. Modern viruses can be very difficult to isolate and remove, and it’s very easy to break your system accidentally while trying to remove one.

Why Do Computers Run Slow?

August 27th, 2010 by paramoz

Does it happen to you that when you need your computer at its best and are ready to do a task, you find out that the computer is running slow? It may seem to be very frustrating, especially for those who are prone to working with a high-tech speedy computer system. Generally, people who are not new to the latest technology know how to deal with such a problem. They know or at least come to know what wrong is happening to their computers. For others, this article may help you a bit.

The very obvious reason for degraded performance of a computer can be because of an attack from a virus, spyware or an adware. Some people think of all the three as the same but actually they are a lot different than you expect them to be. Nonetheless, they all are capable of slowing down a computer to a limit where the work can not be done conveniently. Removal of them is not possible manually because you can never search your entire data records in the hard drive. Anti-virus programs facilitate the communication between data and the user. It analyzes the possible places where an attack could have been done and takes the required corrective action.

Not only the virus slows down the computers, the registry also plays a vital role. Even without an attack, if there are corrupt files present in the registry they may accumulate unnecessary memory blocks. This further adds to the delay in accessing of data elements and thus the performance is not good at all. Registry tools are also available just like anti-virus programs and are designed just to maintain a clean and healthy registry. If you are an amateur, make sure to not play with the registry yourself. Let the tool do its work.

Is it Better to Have More Than One Antivirus Program?

August 26th, 2010 by paramoz

I had a friend tell me once a while ago that his computer was as safe as it possibly could be since he had the smart idea of running five different antivirus programs on it. I hated to break it to him but having more than one antivirus is like having more than one head chef in the kitchen, it slows things down and it hurts more than it helps.

Most antivirus (AV) programs have a database they call their definitions. When a new virus comes out the AV companies take it apart and find some characteristic or signature it has that they can detect. They then add this to the definition database and now their program looks for it when you scan your computer. Since most of the AV products out there work this way, their definition files are very similar, so having more than one AV program looking for the exact same thing really does not help you to weed out more viruses.

Having more than one AV product can also have bad side effects. AV software loads into a portion of your computers memory when you start it up.  Having more than one AV program means more than one scanner taking up valuable real estate in your memory, this leaves less memory available for the things you want to run on your computer. Less memory means your computer will have to use a portion of the hard drive and make everything on your computer slow down.

Another bad effect of having multiple AV programs is the possibility of them seeing the other programs as bad and trying to delete portions of them. This causes all sorts of issues and makes trying to uninstall them a nightmare since the uninstall programs stop once they cant find a file they are looking for. There is nothing worse for your computer than having missing files in a program.  It can cause system lock-ups in the worst cases and slow performance in the best cases.

Look around for reviews of the latest AV products out there and pick one to install. This will keep your computer nice and safe. You may want to partner your AV product up with a good malware program like malwarebytes. Malware and viruses are not the same and most products out there specialize in finding only one or the other. Having one of each of these kinds of programs is good for your computer.

Ceasing Spyware

August 25th, 2010 by paramoz

Spyware has the capability to penetrate, record and send off your personal information kept and keyed into your computer. Credit card numbers, social security numbers, passwords and more can be tracked by spyware applications who then sell it to advertising companies or individual intruders use it for identity theft.

Most spyware will run silently on your computer, leaving you no signs of the information being transferred out. While anti-virus tools are important to use, external software is necessary to catch spyware because virus programs are not designed to detect spyware files.

Downloading freeware such as music and game programs will install spyware in your computer almost certainly. The information gathered by spyware is most often sold to companies who will then use it for advertising purposes. They will target you with product ads they feel you would purchase based on the information spyware gathered.

Running one or more spyware tools on a regular basis and keeping them updated is the primary way to guard you from spyware infections. No Adware and X-Block are two recommended spyware scanning tools. Each can run through the computer system and detect spyware infected files needing to be erased.

How to Get Rid of a Trojan Horse Virus?

August 24th, 2010 by paramoz

Do you want to learn how to get rid of a Trojan horse virus quickly? Even with so many anti-virus software programs on the Internet today that are easily available for download, virus and spyware attacks are still very common incidents. Many computer users do not feel the need to download specialized software to protect their PCs until it becomes too late to do anything. Having a virus or spyware hiding in the system can result in devastating effects.

1. How to Get Rid of a Trojan Horse Virus Fast?

The best and fastest method to deal with viruses and other forms of malware would be to download professionally programmed anti-virus anti-spyware programs. There are many of such software programs available for download on the Internet, but do take note that not all work effectively after my experiences with using them. You should research thoroughly first and read users’ reviews before you decide which one you really want to use.

2. What are Some of the Risks of Not Removing a Trojan Horse Virus from your PC?

The worst consequence of ignoring virus infections is a 100% loss of all programs and files on the system. For PC users who seldom backup their files, this is an extremely devastating consequence. However, this worst case seldom occurs. A more likely scenario is loss or malfunction of certain files like a in the registry or a business document file. The virus will also attempt to spread itself to other computers through your email and MSN contacts.

3. My Computer Got Infected by a Trojan Horse Virus Even Though I Had Anti-Virus Software Installed and Activated!

My PC got infected by a virus even though I had my standard pre-installed anti-virus software activated. I only managed to solve the problem after downloading another more specialized spyware and anti virus removal software. You can download this software that I have used at my website link below.
